Welcome to my thirty - seventh auction.

This auction is another with virtually all brand new items. The only exceptions are, literally, only a handful of items that a deceased member's estate has included. In order to encourage members, I have revised my Czech exchange rate down from 30 to 40 to the pound. That undercuts any prices that you may get in Prague, so you have no excuse not to bid.

The auction starts with the second part of Bob Kinglsey's Estate. This includes an unusual item from the First Republic that has been expertised. I was surprised that there was very little interest in Bob Kingley's Sokol items in the last auction. As a special incentive, I will entertain any reasonable bids for the whole of the Sokol collection - that includes all those in the previous auction as only two were sold. I have never seen such a volume before, so this is a rare opportunity.

The second part has a range of interesting items from the Austro-Hungarian period and a number of Posta overprints. Most are sold " as is", but all have been scanned, so please look carefully and you may find a bargain.

After the success of the Carpatho-Ukraine last time, I have now included some issues from the 1945 issues. Again, all have been scanned. There are many collections and individual items, so look through with care.

1873 Franz Josef 5 Kr postal stationery envelope. Appears to have embossed Klappenstempel with watermark 3 and envelope type IV according to my Michel, so looks like U 60 issued in 1872, catalogued at €12.50 used. Nice small Eipel / Upice CDS on front with rectangular ETE cachet and small Konigshan CDS on reverse. Upice is in the Trutnov region. The Post Office only opened in 1860. Epe is one just over the Dutch border in North Rhine Westflen and is twinned with the Dutch one 10 miles north of Apeldoorn (well-known to Society members). Konigshan appears to be close to the present Czech Polish border in the Czech Republic in the Hradec Kralove region. Unfortunately the cover has suffered over time with nibbles to the left and some stains. Originally priced at £1, but interesting to investigate further
