Postal Auction : Friday 26th January 2018

Closing dates:

post bids   :  received first post Thursday 25th January 2018

e-mail bids:  received by 0600 (UK time) Friday 26th January 2018

Welcome to my forty-ninth auction.

After the change in credit card legislation, please note the further changes in the methods of payment on the bid sheet. As the Society will bear the charges, please could UK members consider payments by cheque rather than debit or credit cards? For overseas members, credit cards are a lower cost to the Society than PayPal. For those of you in the Euro Zone, Euro payments are also accepted (exchange rate at the date of auction)

Note also the declaration on the bid sheet. This allows members of our sister Czech societies to bid on each others' auctions.

Highlights this month include two fine collections of Eastern Silesia sheets with details of the errors and 1945 Liberation covers - unusual to find so many together. For those of you interested in Hradčany printings, there is an accumulation of printers' waste which allows you to identify the development of the various printings. Modern postal stationery collectors may well find items of interest as I have checked the micro printings to find scarcer items.

A number of members took advantage of the miniature sheets offer at the last auction. The list has been updated, so if you have not looked at it since that time, you might be able to find some items to fill your gaps. I will leave this list on the website until the end of this auction in mid February.

You will see from the programme for 2018 that the Society will not have a regional meeting in 2018. I hope to have one arranged in 2019 when bulkier lots and accumulations can be delved into.
