Welcome to my thirty - sixth auction.

This auction is virtually all brand new items. The only exceptions are, literally, only a handful of items that a deceased member's estate has included. In order to encourage members, I have revised my Czech exchange rate down from 30 to 40 to the pound. That undercuts any prices that you may get in Prague, so you have no excuse not to bid.

As a further inducement, one member has very kindly given many lots at very low reserves. I would have thought that these were bargains at twice the price, but he wants members to be delighted with his lots. You can easily find these lots as I have included the text "Spring Clean Bargain" in the descriptions of each of his lots. You will not be disappointed.

If that was not enough, the auction starts with the first part of Bob Kinglsey's Estate. Bob was a long standing member of the Society. He was born in Czechoslovakia and came to England after the war. He was always very modest about his collection. I was aware of his interest in the Sokol movement and his collection of Sokol postal stationery is very extensive. I have occasionally seen individual cards, but his collection is a revelation. Take your time looking through the description and do look at the scans. You can also see many other items to enhance your collection. I also have a large number of postcards from the Czech lands, mainly Austro-Hungary and the First Republic. I do not intend to include these in the auction, but if you are interested in any particular location, or Easter or Christmas or romantic (or funnies as Bob called them), please let me know and I will see what I can find in the two stuffed shoeboxes. I am pricing them at just £1 each. Postmarks are generally not pristine, but there are a large number of views of cities, towns, villages and countryside locations.

There is a fine collection of Slovak censor marks with a very comprehensive coverage of this material. For those of you who collect Carpatho-Ukraine, there are postcards, postcards with postmarks (not just Uzhorod) and postcards with TPO postmarks. Do not forget to look at the collections. There are two fine airmail displays and a complete achieve, which rarely comes to market these days.
