Welcome to my thirty - ninth auction.

Bob Kingsley's Estate continues to start the auction with a fine range of items from the Czech Republic, whether individual items or collections. I am not sure about the date of lot 36, but I am sure that someone will know and others may well find the item of interest. As always, scans are on the Society's website for all but the common items

The main section starts with a few pre-stamp items, whch will be of interest to those who attended the Society's last meeting on translating these covers. Following a range of WWI material there are numerous 1938 censor covers, Sudetenland, B&M, Slovakia (all these priced for the stamps on cover, not taking into account the cancels) and Czech Forces in Great Britain. Lot 239 will interest those of you who collect mail for the blind - letters in braille. Finally, there is a wide selection of collections, priced to give you a bargain.

Last  time I mentioned that I had analysed recent auctions. I have expanded the analysis to the last 11 auctions. 68 members have bid in 10. Two members deserve a gold star as they have bid in 10 of them, while silver stars go to the three who have bid in 9 and bronze to the two who have bid in 8. On the other hand, 29 members have only bid once. The average number of bidders in the recent auctions is 19.5, while the highest has been 29. Most memebers have specific interests. If you have any 1945 overprints or Carpatho-Ukraine, they will sell very well, so your Christmas task is to look through those shoeboxes with all your unsorted material and see what you can offer the auction.
